Valentine's Love

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Happy Valentine's Day to my loves.

After adding the pics of Ollie I realized I don't have a ton of A and I.  Or at least ones I'd post on here.  Mission for the next couple of months, find my camera and take lots of pictures.

Hope everyone had a lovely day!

Sunday Musings

I have a sincerely love/hate relationship with Sundays.  I love having a (usually) relaxing day, but I often leave lesson planning/grading/laundry/grocery shopping until Sunday to do.  Which means I usually am running around doing everything today.  Sigh.

I am trying some new coupon sites to save on groceries.  We seem to spend so much every week on food.  I'll probably update more on this in a couple weeks, after my week off I plan to try a bunch of new recipes (Allrecipes.com) and see how much money I'm saving.

I also started going to the gym more than a couple times a week, so a weight loss update will be uploaded soon, I like the weight-loss wednesday tag.

Hope everyone has a lovely end to their weekend!!

Wee Bit of Wednesday!!

{one} ice: crushed or cubed?
Cubed.  Definitely..

{two} what is your worst traffic pet peeve?
ugh, too many to choose from.  People who tailgate, text, don't use their turn signals...

{three} what room in your house best represents your personality?
I just moved this year, still remodeling.  Probably my bedroom.  I'll post pics when I have a cohesive layout

{four} do you save old birthday cards?
I have some.  I have a box full of important letters/cards.

{five} when was the last time you went on a picnic?
years.  I can't even remember when.

{six} do you regularly check your horoscope?
No, its vague and inaccurate.

{seven} when you’re home, what do you wear on your feet?
I love being barefoot

{eight} what’s your favorite gambling game?
texas hold ‘em.

{nine} have you ever written (or started writing) a book?
I've written chapters of various book ideas, but nothing cohesive.

{ten} what is your favorite musical?
les miserables.

In other exciting news, I discovered the TEACH grant on the Dept. of Ed. website and I think it will cover nearly a third of my grad school costs!  Great end to an otherwise not so great day.

love/don't love

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

[1] I had training all day outside of school, giving me a much needed break. Love.
[2] The training was not useful.  Don't Love.
[3] My mid-winter break starts in less than 2 weeks.  Love.
[4] We just booked our plane tickets to Miami for one of my best friend's weddings in April.  Love.
[5] I was gone for one day, and my kids were horrible (okay really just two of them, but still).  I got two e-mails, one about swearing at/ disrespectful attitude towards the substitute and the other one skipped the rest of class after lunch, sigh.  Don't Love.

[6] I loved the Eminem Chrysler commercial.  I have a small huge bias towards GM since most of my family has worked there at some point, but I am glad to see the improvement of a fellow American car company.   It also showed that Detroit is more than a decaying city.  Always uplifting, gave me the chills really.  Double Love.

Super Bowl Sunday

I'm not a huge fan of Pro-football but I did attend my first NFL game (Go Lions!) this past December.  With my limited knowledge of football and my general annoyance with Packers fans, I will be rooting for the Steelers.  I mostly like the Superbowl for the commercials and if I can get the BF's brother and dad to change the channel occasionally I may be able to watch the Puppy Bowl (on Animal Planet), which is adorable if you have never seen it.

Should be a fun Sunday.

On a side note, apparently Oliver likes Hunter too

He loves boxes, anything he can crawl in.

Since you couldn't see his face, I wanted upload my favorite picture of him.  Too Cute.

Happy Sunday!!

Friday Retail Therapy

I love shopping and clothes and occasionally I will post some of my finds on here!

I heard on the radio the other day about Zappos.com having the best customer service and decided to finally buy the Hunter boots I have always wanted.  I was not disappointed.  After exchanging a pair for a different size I found my perfect pair!

They are pink and I LOVE them!  They will be my new Winter/Spring boots, which will justify make me feel better about buying them :)

Zappos also has free shipping and upgraded my 2nd pair to overnight shipping for free, which was a great surprise.

I found some tall socks to go with them on Etsy.com and I will post how I like them when they come in the mail.

Snowpocalypse 2011

Just before 6 my school district called our snow day. Between the Blizzard warning and estimates of 7-16 inches of snow, I'm looking forward to a day of catching up on work and relaxing.

A good end to an otherwise blah Tuesday. Since we're on the trimester schedule we're just past the halfway point in the 2nd trimester and a couple weeks away from our Mid-Winter break. The kids are cranky and restless and so is most of the staff. :/

Mid-way through writing this I heard a thump/whirring sound and went into the office to find most items knocked over and Oliver sitting on the printer playing with the buttons/paper. While I've been told this is somewhat unusual, we have a large kennel that Oliver stays in while we're at work, precisely to keep him from trashing the house. Unfortunately his cage and his litter box are in the office, so keeping him out of there is not really an option. I also made the lovely discovery of finding part of the blinds chewed off, ugh. I would imagine this is only a fraction the work of having a small child.

Tomorrow's To-do List:

1.) Clean office/kitchen/living room
2.) laundry, laundry and more laundry
3.) grade 80 tests
4.) Plan out my Civil Rights and Congress Units, print tests and study guides
5.) take a nap

Hopefully posting this will be a motivator!!
