Love/Don't Love

(1) I signed for my schedule yesterday (my near dream schedule) making it a 90% certainty that I will get to come back in the fall!  LOVE

(2) This week has been crazy with field trips/activities (college, Cedar Point, JROTC Field Day, DECA, Track, etc.)  that interrupts the day.  Combine that with informal random walkthroughs, our school improvement walkthroughs and my formal evaluation on Thursday and I am super stressed!
Don't Love

I would rather spend my week here.  :)

Hopefully everyone else has a 4 day weekend coming up too!!

WILW

I've been a little MIA the last few days and I apologize.  I fund out last Thursday I've been laid off and couldn't think of anything positive to blog about.  After a week few days I've regrouped and realized everything will work out. :)

(1)  After getting my pink slip an administrator and at least 4 teachers have told me how awesome of a job I've done this year and that they really hope I get called back.   Cue crying at work (in a happy way). It's nice hearing that, as a teacher you don't often hear positive responses.

(2) I've started couponing.   I am addicted to the 'Extreme Couponing' show on  TLC.  I have been saving 40-60% plus getting free products.  I will do a post on this soon.

(3) Summer is near!  A few weeks left.
.

Short this week but I have a ton of grading to do!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

(1) I'm loving that there are only 25 days left of school.  Although that is kind of scary since I have an observation left to do and finals to plan/conferences tomorrow.

(2) I'm loving that Friday is a half day!

(3) I'm loving that Sunday is Mother's Day and I can't wait to give my mom her present (hopefully it gets here on time!)

Have a wonderful night!!

Misc. Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

(1) This week consists of conferences, prom, after school tutoring and a technology after school workshop.  It's going to be a long week..

(2) We had a bomb threat at school today.  Ugh.  It wasn't a 'credible' threat but days like this making getting anything done difficult.

(3) bin Laden was killed last night. This pretty much sums up my feelings on that (taken from a friend's FB):

"I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure." ~Mark Twain

(4) As a first year teacher I find myself just scraping by to

make it to the end of the year.  I love my kids this trimester

but I feel overwhelmed and stressed with layoffs/budget cuts,

etc.

What my 'end of the year celebration' would look like:

Happy Monday lovelies!

Hope everyone has a great week.

Miami

I've been terribly slow on updating, this is a recap of our stay in Miami for a friend's wedding at the beginning of the month.

Viscaya

The Mansion

The pool

Sculpture and Biscayne Bay

View from gardens of the mansion

Patio/outdoor sitting rooms

Gazebo by the water.  There were a ton of wedding/Quinceniera pictures being taken here all afternoon

Viscaya is gorgeous and although I am partial to historic places ( being a history major and all)  A. really liked it as well, so we'll consider him 'unbiased'.

Viscaya is a house built by James Deering in 1916.  It has 10 acres of gardens and a forest.  It is set on the gorgeous Biscayne Bay and has interesting architecture inside and out.  If you are going to Miami anytime soon I highly reccommend it!

Royal Wedding Love

I've always had a love for royalty.   Particularly after a school trip to London when I was in 9th grade.  Seeing Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.  There is something so magical about it all.

Unfortunately I have a real job now and could not stay home to watch the wedding but I'm not going to lie, I considered taking the day off!  I  loved Kate's the Duchess of Cambridge's dress.  It was gorgeous and I won the bet with some of my friends that it would be a McQueen creation.  Absolute perfection.

These two clowns should have worn something more appropriate.  But I'm not really surprised.

What an adorable little girl.  Such a great picture to show her one day!

TGIF and have a wonderful weekend.
